A question for artists... I have picked up a Canvas painting pad and I want to do several of my sketches as paintings. I just can't figure out how to transfer the sketches onto the pad sheets.

In highschool it was popular to draw a grid on a photocopy of a sketch/photograph and a corresponding grid on the canvas, then to copy the picture square by square. That's the least expensive way to do it.
In university we had access to opaque projectors, but those are expensive to buy yourself. They work like overheads, but they can project things like book pages - they don't have to be transparent - and then you just trace the picture directly.
Myself, I've always just eyeballed it. Good luck! ^^
Gleam... I do have my Transparent Grid Sheets... Thanks!! And for increasing the size?
I've heard of a odd tool that has a pointer on one end and you place a pencil in the other then trace over the piccie while the pencil does the drawing on the page... Have you ever heard of this?

To increase the size, just increase the size of the squares on the canvas relative to the ones on the sheet.
Like a compass sort of instrument? Oooh that sounds complicated, like you'd have to keep your hand really still and straight or you'd end up with a bunch of scribbles. I imagine that it would have to be a very large instrument, or the resulting copy would be only slightly larger. But whatever works for you! ^^
Thanks!! will the squares on orignal be one size and the ones on the canvas be of the larger size?
