Silence Your Mother Tongue by *InuHanyou:iconInuHanyou:

Silence Your Mother Tongue!

Silence your Mother tongue!
Speak it not but in screaming whispers
Sounds vibrating back echo in the darkness
Of your mind.

Yes, Hide! Hide your identity!
Cover your pride and affect the same mentality as the masses
Surrounding smothering you.
Force your babes, and toddlers, child so innocent, so loving
To deny a deep part of themselves
Just to secure safety from others…

To be who you are means death…
Death by shunning…
Death by whispers…
Death by accusing fingers…

To say what Land you were birthed from meant
You are a mindless follower of the Crushing Hand
The red twisting mockery that is a symbol of Faith and Devotion
Because some following the path
of dementia and insanity
Meant all follows…

Can’t they see?? You left that behind?
You came here for a chance at a new life?
A chance to have Equality?
To not have your life ended for an irrational cause?
To have one race that looks alike, thinks alike, speaks alike
What kind of life is that?
Killing the spirit within that makes up
The Exquisite Rainbow of Souls that is Humanity?

Oh my Nona!
Oh my Grandmother!
How you must have suffered in the silence
Before the world became sane again.
May you speak now your Mother tongue
with clear clarion and angelic voices
up in the enchanted halls of Heaven.

Had a friend who went through the war as a teen...she would still freeze 40 years later if she saw someone who looked like a certain Gestapo officer she had problems with during the war.

Also knew a woman who had been in a concentration camp...still had the tattoo on her arm...

Lots of sad stories out there of how people abuse others. And, as you know, people don't even need war as an excuse....

Dukkha, suffering,
wheel of life off balance --
compassion the only oil that helps.

It's heart breaking that the world had to suffer this way for so long before it was stopped.... So true - and that is the really tragedy... the abuse is always there... always surrounding with its dark veil. I am hopeful that it's getting better that people are fighting back more.

Really wish the world can have a "Hug" day.

Beautifully sad and true. In my country most of the inmigration came from escaping the horrors of famine and war. Lots of stories told about their suffering and the atrocities they were witness of. Sadly, even nowadays, people around the world still suffer this atrocities. But, what all these people taught me was there is always hope. They came here, made a life and healed their wounds.

Nice idea, a worldwide "hug" day, would be wonderful. Love is always the best answer we can offer.

It bears a lot of truth with the multiple genocides that have occurred since then as well.

Reminds me of that old Peter,Paul, and Mary song refrain. "When will we ever learn........"

You have more faith in the world in general than me.

Although it's true, I believe each of us can make a difference, one on one, by chosing the compassionate way over the other options.

But I, not being a boddisatva or a saint, still screw it up from time to time. But my goal is to leave some things a little lighter than darker when I go. Drops in the bucket add up.

Yes! Hugs can make the world a better place!

Thank you so much for your comment! I still have much hope for humankind to get better for people to get along and start to care for each other.

They do! They really do! Compassion makes the soul warm.. sighs happily. Some day there will be no wars and only temper tantrums that are forgotten the next day by all.

*peers into bucket and ponders if there are any fishies...*
